Following data collection and analysis, it is important for researchers to communicate the more interesting and relevant results found to the wider scientific community. The most common way to do this is in the form of an article (also referred to as a scholarly, journal or peer-reviewed article). These articles are written by professionals in their field conveying their findings which are reviewed (known as the peer-review process), before they are published for everyone to read. The peer-review process involves at least two experts reviewing the article, which must meet strict journal guidelines, be original and relevant. Any published article has passed this peer-review process and therefore is a credible source of information.
